Botanica - The Wichita Gardens
If your idea of a perfect day together as a family includes nature and beautiful florals, let’s go to the Botanica! One of the best locations for summer family photos in Wichita is the Botanica. This may just be one of my all-time favorite spots to visit in Wichita for its unmatched beauty and immaculately well-kept grounds. And this summer, the entire garden is prettier than I’ve ever seen it before! Plus, they are open for extended hours (until 8pm every day) and weekday evenings are to best time to visit and plan your session. It’s quiet, peaceful, serene, and it’s an experience your whole family will enjoy! No stiff poses here. We’ll explore the gardens together, you’ll all have a fun time, your kids will get to wiggle and play as much as they want, and I’ll be there to capture all of your precious memories.
The Ruffin Building - Downtown Wichita
We’re going to switch things up a littler here. If you are picturing your family in more of an urban, minimalistic environment-this one’s for you! There are some really neat buildings with stunning architecture in downtown, Wichita. The Ruffin building is a definite winner for a location indoors. The building itself is gorgeous, and it’s the perfect backdrop for an urban, indoor location. The walls and walls of windows letting in all the natural light, the large concrete columns and stairs, plus the beautiful green plants around every corner, make it a spot that you’ll never forget. I love this location for older kids in particular, but it’s great for anyone.
Sedgwick County Extension Arboretum
Another look at the gorgeous blooms of the season, the Sedgwick Country Extension Arboretum is a beautiful backdrop for family photos any season - but especially in the summertime! There are nature trails to explore, beautiful and vibrant flowers all around, and it is a stunning spot for any kind of photo session. In a small area we’re able to get such great variety to capture beautiful memories this season.
Pretty Kansas Farm - Clearwater, KS
Just a short 30 minute drive from Wichita, we can capture your family’s memories in a gorgeous greenhouse near Clearwater, KS. The greenhouse is simple, yet elevated and absolutely stunning - especially during golden hour! With so many unique flowers blooming and beautiful little details, you’ll absolutely love the special moments you and your family will have here. If you are waiting until fall or even winter for your family session, she decorates her greenhouse to match the seasons too, perfect for those Christmas cards and holiday keepsakes!
